Yes I have heard that also, its suppose to be in by 2008, I heard from an Aircraft Owner when he applied for a CofA recently he questioned its short validity and he was told because he would be re-issued with one in 2008 as there was a new system.

Open to correction,

C of A's are going to be issued open ended but you are going to to have to get you ARC (airworthiness review cert) vailidated every year by a company approved to do so , it is not really progress its just the authority passing the book to some one else

Sounds like just another layer of paperwork to me.

Can anyone explain the benefits of us having to move to the new system?
