PPLH Questions on AIP & AIC's.

Post by Overpitcher » Thu Nov 16, 2006 11:32 pm

Hello all. Love the site and the forum, very helpfull. I am from the heli side, with just over 100 hrs, on the way to (slowly) commercial.
Has anyone managed lately, to obtain a hard copy of the current AIP and AIC's. Probably a stupid question, considering we can't even get a current chart. Do PPL's get regular notams or any other relevant updates from the IAA ? Thanking all repliers in advance..........

I have a hard copy of the AIP/AIC's but I got it years ago. Not sure if they still offer it to newcomers.... they still send out hard copies of updates but also send out the full AIP/AIC on a cd-rom with every update. maybe this would be good enough for you? ring the iaa and they will set you up on the mailing list.

hello Overpitcher,

i think you might have phone Shannon to get a hard copy of the AIP, that's where i got mine , mind you that was five years ago and they were giving them out free so i'm not sure if you can still get one from them.

the AIC is on the IAA website so if you want you can print it off from there or save it onto your computer or onto a disk.

as for notams you can get those at www.notams.faa.gov

anyway give shannon a ring and see what they say.

Tried EADS on previous ocassions, got lost in trying to register . followed all instructions on screen, received password by e mail ,etc, etc, and it still did'nt allow me past initial screen. Gave up.Back to the drawing board. Thanks to all for the suggestions so far. I will post my progress, as it happens.
