Photos of Dublin Airport required for model project

Post by cirymarr » Sat Sep 30, 2006 5:04 pm

Hi All

No doubt I will get into some trouble for posting this message here, but here goes...

I am in the process of building a 1:400 scale model of Dublin Airport, and want to ensure it will be as close to the real thing as possible. My problem is, I am finding it very difficult to get images of the airside buildings of Dublin Airport from the web. I am currently looking for images of all of the adjoining buildings between Pier B and the Main terminal bilding, as well as those of the Main terminal to Pier A. I am also looking for images of Pier C, and landside images of the Main terminal etc.

I am handcrafting all of the buildings, and anticipate this project will take many years to complete, but am confident it will be impressive upon completion!

If anyone has any airside images, perhaps they could upload them to the Airports area etc. I would be most grateful indeed. Unfortunately, I do not live in Dublin, and so have difficulty in getting regular access to the airport for my research.

Thanking you all

CM

As far as I know Photography is not permitted Airside for security reasons. So I dont know where your going to get your pics from.

Google Earth

I've used Google Earth to get the width and length dimensions of the buildings, but unfortunately, it isn't much use to get 'side-on' images of the actual terminal buildings, walkways etc.

I was hoping that any aircraft enthusiasts that regularly take images from the back road (near long term car park blue) might have some close ups.

Ask the guys at IFSD, they designed Dublin Airport for Flight Sim and its exactly the same as in real life.
