Pilot moving to Cork
I am a British JAR PPL (ca 150 hours) and looking to fly when I move to Cork in the New Year. Does anyone have any good suggestions for where I might join a flying club? I won't have motor transport when I first move.

As I've flown with atlantic for the past year and a half, I myself would reccommend them. No problems, aircraft are widely available and have a good range to choose from , C172SP (EI-DDX), G115A (EI-DJY) and a Piper Seneca PA34-200T (EI-CMT).
They also have a spacious environment, with free tea and coffee making facilities and a comfortable seating area while waiting.

There are no longer any flying clubs based at Cork Airport. The last one went out of existence about five years ago.
The two organsiations mentioned above are the two fixed wing flying schools based at Cork.
There are also two groups as far as I know. G-TAIT C172S and G-AVIC F172H. Also there is a privately owned Cirrus Sr22. I don't know if any shares are available in these aircraft.

yeah, but aidan, Atlantic and southaer dont just train, you can rent the aircraft from them aswell, once you complete a checkride with an instructor.

Thanks
My thanks to all of you who have taken the trouble to reply to my request. It is really helpful Google didn't turn up either of the flying schools, which I will be very happy with, I am sure. I am pretty flexible - just want to keep flying - and probably do some more training. I'll look them up in Jan. Happy Christmas!
