Thanks for that Wanderlei. Anyone else think the same or different?

If anyone can advise on the 675 hour breakdown, that'd be great.

ATPLs in 6 months?

I'm planning to start studying for the ATPL theory exams full time (no work) towards the end of April with two exam sittings - July and October. I'll be doing them through NFC using the Oxford/Abbacus system. My question is: is 6 months realistic to get them done in (with full time study)? I'll be s...

Hi EI-DJY I was a little similar to yourself, I soloed after about 23 hours - did about 8 hrs from July - Dec 2002, busted my hand and between May and Oct 03, did another 15 hours. In that time, I'd flown in 4 different types of a/c and had about 10 different instructors (that's not bragging in any ...

Thanks again for your replies. amg182, not sure I'd believe any "guarantees" that any school gives, although I don't suppose you (or anybody else) does either...

Thanks for the advice FLYbyWIT, alphaLaura, I'll check up on these over the next few days. Have some of the finance saved up already, as I'm pretty conservative around banks. If anyone has any other info, I'd be happy to hear it.

Pilot Requirement Surveys

Hi I'm hoping to start with the ATPLs/CPL next year, and like most others need to take a bank loan to fund it. I'm putting together a business plan to suitably impress a bank manager to provide the cash and would like to be able to include something on the number of pilots required in Ireland, Europ...

Hi Una For airplanes, the minimum number of hours before you can go for the test is 45 (of which 5 must be solo circuits, 5 solo navigation, and 5 are radio navigation and simulated instrument work (with an instructor beside you for this bit). Some people manage the 45 hours (fair do'es to them), bu...

Just wanted to say thanks to the NFC for organising yesterday's recruitment event. Interesting and a laugh at the same time, still trying to figure out all the ins and outs of the Brookefield contract :)

I am not sure I can add any more than what has been said already. I flew with that instructor once some years ago, and like everyone else here who has flown with him, found him to be a sound guy and professional pilot.

May both pilots rest in peace.
