Re: NEW iPhone app - VFR Flight Guide

For example you can use a wikipedia layer with your google map on the android so that little W symbols pop up at different locations on the map as you m...

Aviation Apps (Android)

Anyone recommend any? I have one that gives TAFs and METARS, but only for Dublin and Cork so that's not great. An app that gives a daily F214 / F215 would be very nice indeed. These are free anyway - it would just take the hassle out of retrieving it. Any decent programmers out there? Anyone used XC...

Class 2 Aviation Medical - Best value?

It's that time again. Can anyone recommend me somewhere with good value for me to get my second medical (I'm under 30). I am in Kilkenny but I'll do Dublin/ Waterford et al. I have heard prices range from €120 up to €200, which seems rather extortionate. I also fail to see how certain places can jus...

A mate of mine's brother is a process engineer and was comissioned to design an ethanol distillery in the UK to make this stuff, but they pulled the plug on the project when they realised that it would take 1.2 litres of oil to make a litre of ethanol.

Hold down the shift key when you click on the hyperlink opens the link in a new window, and using ctrl will open it in a new tab.

Or else right click on it and select open in new tab or open in new window.

Re: irish atc on strike

IF your colleagues and friends who have wifes, kids mortgages to pay got sent home with no pay for no good reason you would do what you had to do to get them back. What about clocking up the bones of a thousand euro an hour in machine down-time because the replacement part was sitting on the tarmac ...

Re: irish atc on strike

I would be very interested in that information too. They are being very restrictive with th details of the technology they are releasing. According to an IMPACT representative on radio one the other day, the new equipment made the ATC's job more difficult and time consuming. Why would any employer i...

Found it! From Hum: Anyone that runs unleaded petrol in their aircraft should be aware of the potential for unexpected results... There is not an 'Avgas' equivalent quality control system in the standard of forecourt unleaded petrol. One can see all sorts of additives cleaners and 'enhancers' advert...
