For those who don't know, it is aptly named Heart Reef. Right time of year to post it really.

Yeah, have a few snaps of them too. Took the seaplane trip to 'Hamo' for 100 AUD each and they kindly added on the seaplane trip to Whitehaven for another 100. Result! That one even included free champagne lunch, very impressive for the price. Will try postin snap of Whitehaven. Did a dive at Reefwo...

You can almost make out 'whatsarunway' in the front seat.
Birdies on the banks of the Shannon telling me of a 2nd similar 76 to join the growing number of corporate heli's in that region. More toys for da boys lyke?

N reg in EIWF? Totally unaware of that. Unaware there were loads of pilots down there other than CHC bods. Excellent. I refer to the posted link, Sideshow Raheem. It makes interesting reading.

OOps! I did completely forget about another N reg machine west of the Shannon with two JAR IR pilots at least. Apologies if they felt left out.
That totals 3 JAR IR pilots with a possible 4th. That I am aware of...... 8)

Not naming names, but I am only aware of 5 N reg heli's in Ireland flying IR, and bar one known pilot, and one I don't know much about, the other pilots flying such heli's certainly do not have anything other than FAA IR's.
Nothing wrong, perfectly legal etc. But not as others previously described.

If you read the thread on the link provided you'll understand my reasoning. Few people trying to convert FAA to JAR IR's on heli's have found it easy. I am aware fixed wing is very good in US, but rotary wing IR's in the US are done at low speeds in an R22/H269 and never actually enter cloud during ...

Some of them are, most of the N reg pilots have little previous IR time before hopping in and heading off. They also fly off FAA IR's which are far easier to get and pass than a JAR equivalent. Those with knowledge and experience seem to have the full JAR deal, as a result fly EI and G reg 109's etc...
