Re: swapping schools for winter

well I went ahead and got myself a lesson with NFC, did some steep turns and circuits, all and all very happy and might do a couple lessons more while the grass strip is drying out. At the end of the day, I don't think I'll be one of the wonder-boys finishing PPL in just 45h, so even if NFC hours do...

Hi All, my ground school is about to start soon, the school is aiming to prepare everyone for the sitting that takes place at the end of March. I have all the Trevor Thom books (latest edition from pooleys), I've completed some of them already, started looking into AirQuiz and some other mock exams ...

swapping schools for winter

Hi All, I've run into a little problem - Irish winter incompatibility with grass strips :) I'm doing my PPL in a place that has a grass strip. I started in summer and so far only logged some 8-9 hours, I'm determined to go out once a week, but the weather hasn't been there for me. Lately the biggest...

Re: Setting Up Own airfield

I think your best bet is to go through a list of un-licensed airfields in the country and contact their owners, maybe pay them a visit and talk these things over a cuppa. If you have troubles getting such list, let me know, I have a brand new 1:250000 chart with non-licensed airfields on them, I'm s...

Re: Setting Up Own airfield

well have you checked EINC? as for own airfield, I've done some research and so far this is what I've found: first you need to decide what type of airfield is it going to be - licensed or non-licensed. To license an airfield, it has to go through IAA process, but if you don't plan to use it for trai...

briefing.met.ie

Hi all,

is briefing.met.ie registration still free and done via email? When did you register and how long it took for them to process the application? I've sent my email on Sunday, I was hoping it would be processed this week, so far not a peep from them

Re: Possible Shares in a RV 6/7 at Kilkenny

I've done 8 lessons so far for my PPL, with any luck and decent weather I might have my PPL sorted next summer when I would look into buying shares. I really like those RV's but my concern is - you know how you have to do 12 hours every other year to keep your SEP current? will RV's count forward th...

Re: Possible Shares in a RV 6/7 at Kilkenny

do RV's count as EASA aircraft? I mean, do hours count forwards EASA PPL(A) or you need to have some different type of licence (rating) to fly it as most of them are homebuilt?

Re: PPL(m) on the east coast question.

take a look in here - https://www.iaa.ie/registered-training-facilities" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; you want to make sure the organization is approved, as you can see, there are not many who do (M). I'm doing PPL(A) in Newcastle, Wicklow, they also do PPL(M), they have a beautyful...

Re: should i do a college course first

I'm not overly confident to give much advice, but I would do both at the same time. I work full time+ some overtime and still have time to do PPL, so you should be able to combine college and PPL. College should be higher priority anyway, you always need something to fall back on
