Re: N registration? pros and cons!!

You need a stenson hat, boots and a pistol to complete the cowboy look. I have all three. Then you need a good excuse when every you meet tells you "that aul N reg caper won't last forever". Generally a good counter argument is enhanced with lots of ICAO inferences. After that its pretty easy. It's ...

Re: Economics of owning a plane?

Old thread revival party. Wonder has the OP found a solution to his aircraft needs (wants) in the last 8 years... 2005 seems like a blurry memory. Wouldn't ever try put precise costs together for airplane ownership, it would only dilute the pleasure and rub salt into the bad days when it all goes "t...

The tax legislation covers all of the Republic of Ireland. The change may take some time to be picked up on by various airports. It's gone and there's not much more to say really....

Re: Building your own grass strip??

Seems like quite a contentious series of posts there Rames..... The article will be well researched I'm sure, and we can read it first before casting views on the authors thoughts. Planning is an incredibly specialist area and you could be jumping over a 2ft wall with a 15ft drop on the other side b...

Another blot in the copy book for these guys.... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bin_Air The European Union warned the airline in 2011 to improve its safety or face inclusion in the EU no-flight blacklist of banned airlines. You'd need a stray cat down the back to keep manners on the passengers I hear!...

Re: IAA Comments on SES and Intrument Flying

Well said Mark! Fail to see how cruising on top of the layers, normally FL060 to FL010 for most situations is going to cause chaos in the airways. You can rely on our boys in green there to put a "tabloid style spin" on what's been the norm in the real world for years. Nice to see the editorial posi...

Re: The same questions every year...Inishboffin and Cliffden

I suggest you leave your website unchanged, as there is no way to confer any "Ah sure it'll be grand go ahead" via the magic of the internet to a prospective visiting pilot. Q) Is it possible to land in Boffin or Cleggan? A) Yes it is possible Q) Is there a reliable way to get PPR and owners permiss...

Biscuits your choice. As for contacting the "who's who of those who do" you might be well served by picking up a copy of the "Aviators Guide to Ireland" - but in the meantime I've pm'd you a number.

Hi David,
That Cessna 140 you speak of is gone quite a while. If you're looking for a Cessna 140 then I can get you one, but it's a compete flying one in annual. PM me if you want to chat about it.

Last few posts spot on. Think the generous and genuine responses to the OP show what a decent and considerate bunch we are. The IAA should be thankful they don't have callers like that to their offices.
