Re: Results of IAA GA Survey

Jim, My reading of the post is that a number of investigations attribute misuse of GPS resulting in a fatal accident i.e. more than one investigation where the outcome of the incident was a fatality. I may be wrong but the wording leaves this impression in my mind. where the inexperienced Pilot who ...

Re: Results of IAA GA Survey

Some pilots flying VFR may be using GPS for approach and landing; this is a major concern for the IAA. There have been a number of accident investigations in Ireland and the UK in recent years where the use of GPS has lead to over confidence by the pilot in his situational awareness and resulted in...

Re: PPL Confuser

Colin,

Not sure if you still grace these parts or not. Just wanted to let you know I recently got my PPL and have passed the confuser onto another student just starting out - free of charge of course!

It served me well during my training and has now been passed on.

Cheers

It is St. Angelo no doubt - Airport markings for Alpha/RW33 proves beyond any doubt. It was just ill timed sarcasm on my part. The weather has been unseasonably bad this year, I have had my share of canceled flights at EGAB!

All the best

You seem to heading down Enniskillen way! It would be foolish to miss the loughs we have around EGAB. Get in touch with Steve Powell of the amphibious flying club here - he is a renowned Seaplane master and recently organised the Fermanagh Seaplane Fly-In.
