A diversion due to fog? Hardly a newsworthy event. Was the headline "400 in near death jet disaster as Boeing 320 pilot flies blind"?

The same thing happened in the MD-82/Shorts 360 collision at CDG some years ago. ATC speaking French to one crew and English to the other.

The French are the worst in Europe for it. The Spanish and Italians have getting just as bad in recent years too.

Feeling sick isn't an unusual thing during your first few hours. It will pass. I also found that when flying I was fine, probably due to my mind concentrating on other things, but I would sometimes still feel a bit queasy if I was sitting in the back watching.

I did my CAA (UK) PPL in OBA when I first started flying. I have no complaints about how it worked out. The training maybe isn't going to be as in depth or as suited to JAA procedures as it would be here, but it's nothing that a few hours at your local flying club won't sort out on your return. If y...

37 isn't young to be a 737 captain. In fact its pretty old, given the expansion rate of some of the lo-co carriers.

Sat till 1am?......at least it wasn't Ryanair. They'd have just cancelled the flight and told you exactly where you could go to!

Can hardly blame the airline if the flight was bumpy and uncomfortable. We don't control the Wx.....as many fog delayed pax seem to think.

That crash happened in October last year.
The crew used incorrect flex T/O figures (the ones from the previous flight), resulting in setting a T/O EPR that was well below the minimum required.
