The attitude persits within the industry that the IR is a rating really only suitable and appropriate to commercial operations. This became abundantly clear to me after making enquiries of an Irish FTO regarding 'conversion' of an FAA/IR onto my JAA licience. Well at least he told you how it is. So...

I imagine give that the medicals contract comes up for renewal every now and then. That a fee is probably paid to the IAA. But the bulk of the money goes to the Aeromedical centre, I would have thought. Remember too that things like the ECG are facilities provided by the Mater private rather than Ae...

Galway Airport has a very peculiar attitude to it's business. Only recently, they caused problems for a student pilot on a cross country by closing well before their scheduled time forcing a divert for fuel. The well publicised nav charge are another example. I'm not sure what you mean by stirring it up. The reality is that there are no jobs out there right now and it's likely to remain tight for the f...

Now mr crow, lets not get into a flap and start name calling. I'm sorry if I cut into your fantasies with a little reality. Maybe you need to grow up a little. As far as I'm concerned. I'm telling it like it is. Airbus at least deserves that. I don't know what circles you move in but I can introduce...

If it doesn't suit you, then quit the course and do something else. The problem now for you is; do what? You say you want to be a pilot, that's great. But do you have the money to start training or can you get it? If so fine, off you go. If not you have to find the money. Becoming a pilot costs betw...
