Re: NMAI and Flying In Ireland Fly-in Clonbullogue 2011 Photos

Thanks to everyone for coming. The organisation was well worth it. I must actually go to one of these events some time. Organising and running them, enjoyable as it is, can lead to missing something over the weekend. My special thanks to Gerry Humphreys who took my mate for a spin on Saturday. He st...

Re: Fatigue has killed and will kill again.

Your Safety Is Our Policy??????? This is something I had out with Yves Morier in EASA last October. You may remember my article on it in FII. The solution to all these problems is frighteningly simple but would appear to be cunningly hidden from the view of most people within the regulatory environm...

Re: English Language Proficiency

What a load of cr*p. ELP is an ICAO requirement and as such it should be recognised Worldwide. It might be worth checking this one with ICAO. Who in the IAA told you they won't accept it.

Re: English Language Proficiency

There wont be any way to avoid the 40 euro fee as this is paid directly to the IAA and not the examiner.

Re: English Language Proficiency

It gets more interesting. I have to do my biannual flight with an instructor before the end of January. Coincidently, my instructor is also an IAA examiner. I rang the IAA to be told that I cant be signed off for ELP during this flight as my instructor is an examiner but not an ELP examiner so I wil...

Re: AOPA and IAA

Hi Jim

Still no news on that meeting. I have had a look at the list of ELP examiners published by the IAA. I dont see anyone there from AOPA. If you cant give us a report could you just give us a clue?

Re: English Language Proficiency

The statement reads that AOPA is being considered by the Authorities as an “option” to partake the training course and qualify to examine candidates. Thats an interesting one Jim. The Authority told us last week that they have appointed 7 examiners around the country. Are any AOPA members included ...
