Re: Malin to Mizen Head

Just a quick update. I plan to do it Friday 1st of July, Saturday and Sunday. It will take 3 days, One day to get to the Start point, the task itself, and another day to get home after the trip. However if the weather is not suitable, then we will plan to do the flight on the following weekend. I am...

Re: Malin to Mizen Head

3 Airfields along the intended route have given permission for us to land, have a break and refuel if needs be.
Polish up those two strokes guys.

Re: Malin to Mizen Head

Hello everyone, Waiting for a bank holiday will be tough, realistically we will need about 3 days for this challenge, does anyone have a problem with taking a day off work and we can therefore just pick a weekend in or around the first weekend in July when we will have the long evenings. If it suits...

Re: ERRORS in the VFR Flight Guide.

That's a great idea Kevin. Last year I bought a new unlaminated map, and bought some small pink circular stickers. It took me some time, but I went through your book page by page and marked each airfield on a map with a sticker and wrote the corresponding page number from your book on each sticker. ...

Malin to Mizen Head

Hello All, I am just putting together an idea of organising a weekend over the summer for NMAI members to meet up and do the Malin to Mizen Head flight in one day. Then of course off to the pub for a few pints afterwards. Of course for anyone who fly a CTSW or C42 this is a piece of cake. But I am l...

Re: NMAI Challenge Trophy.

The NMAI Challenge Trophy will be brilliant craic over the Spring , Summer and beyond. I picked it up and so far it still resides at our strip. Details , co-ordinates and photo's of my raid last Sunday are on the NMAI Forum.

Who will be brave enough to steal it next?

Re: PPL Skills test at 16

Fantastic, well done Harry. Congratulations and best of luck with your future flying. I started flying properly when I was 30, would have loved to have started at 15.
Enjoy

Damien.

"NMAI challenge trophy" I believe has been captured and moved to Crossmolina in Co. Mayo. Michael Tolan has it, but not for long.

Re: NMAI Challenge Trophy.

''Drat and double drat'', as Dick Dasterdly used to say. My plans to steal the NMAI cup were foiled this morning. I arrived to the airfield at 08.15, beautiful still morning, sun was just rising into a clear blue sky, I grabbed the two Jerry cans and headed to the petrol station. On the return at 08...

Re: RT licence

Hello HedgeHopper, I found Trevor Thom's book 7 was a great help, it is well written and goes through everything which came up on my exams. I did my RT Course a few years ago in Belfast International. However I know that there has been a lot of work done between the NMAI and the IAA over the past fe...
