Plane in Roscommon

Hi Folks, Lately, while passing through Roscommon Town, I've spotted a Light Aircraft parked outside a house on the Dublin side of Roscommon. It look like it may be a Piper or Rallye. Obviously there must be an airstrip there but not possible to see from the road. Anybody know anything about the typ...

Re: English Language Proficiency

Thanks Jim, Yes, your right, I do understand that doing this over the phone may not be acceptible but how about the use of every day modern technologies such as Skype? Also, I was just wondering if there are guidelines laid down as to what you (as a pilot whose proficiency is being tested) are expec...

Re: English Language Proficiency

..............And take time off work. And travel to a "remote location" to give them €50 so that they can tell me I can speak English?

Surely, this can be done over the phone in 5 minutes?

I wonder can AOPA do anything for us here?

Cheers,

Informing IAA about medical conditions

Hi folks,

Just wondering, for a PPL holder,in what circumstances do you need to inform the IAA that you have a medical condition?

Also, what medical conditions are deemed reportable to the IAA?

Cheers,

Mixturerich.

Re: Flying around Galway

Thanks for the advise and info.

It appears that Galway is more GA friendly than it was a couple of years ago - which is good to hear. Must organise that trip next week hopefully.

Thanks again,

Mixturerich.

Flying around Galway

Hi Folks, I was just wondering what the situation is if I was to fly to Galway and spend about 20 - 30 minutes flying around that area to do some sight-seeing (Galway City, Salthill, Barna etc). I wouldn't necessarily be planning to land in Carnmore. If I was to do this would I expect to have to pay...

Hi Oscar Bravo.

As far as I am aware it is doing some survey work in the area - not sure what it is surveying though.

Aircraft Registration Link - Is is missing???

Hi all, Congratulations on the new look forum - it looks very well. Is it me or is the Aircraft Registration link missing. It was something I didn't use very often but miss it now that it appears not to be available anymore. Keep up the good work and a Happy New Year to all - safe flying, Cheers, Mi...

Hi Delta Victor,

Best of luck with your new purchase - it will be nice to see a nearly new aircraft at Sligo.

How much do you envisage cost per hour being with / without instructor?

Cheers,

Mixturerich.

Hi Golf Lima Roger,

Just wondering have you a rough idea what figure you would put on "Low Monthly upkeep cost".?

I would imagine it depends on how many are involved in the sydicate.

Cheers,

Hi Folks, Yes, Mayo flying Club ceased operating about 4 years ago. They initially moved the plane to Knock Airport, but that did not work out very well. The club had a very clean, nice to fly, Cessna 150 EI-AMV( http://www.flyinginireland.com/eireg.php?Registration=EI-avm ), which they then sold - ...
