Its a standardised restriction associated with Prisons, Department property, etc as far as I know, just as you have to have permission to get charts of military facilities. It isn't strictly inforced and you can clearly fly over facilities with the correct clearance, just dont dare publish or use an...

Until a replacement is found (although I'm not sure what the new role will require) - probably go upto something more versaitle than a C208 but along the same lines with low operating costs. One critical thing to note is, if the Corps wants to keep using smaller aerodromes (as they did with Hacketst...

Haha, just out of pure curiosity I saw her at a show and asked what farmers thought of her landing on their property (since the C152 wouldnt be too welcome), she said they normally provide a lift, cup of tea and lunch - I'm in the wrong end of aviation!

I have to say they will be missed by enthusiasts and pilots alike. Although I remember on a recent visit to Baldonnel (the day before the first AW's arrived), an engineer commented that he'd prefere to have more complex overhaules, rather than almost weekly ones with the Alo's! Very interesting craf...

Haha, Welcome Keith, great to see you've arrived in AVGAS Nirvana! - What type are you flying at the moment, and do you think you'll go to PPL, or beyond! (I've been working at it for years!). By the way, don't tell the other half how much you're spending on a tin can, just take them for a nice flig...

Bertie & Shamrock Competition...

Hmm, This has gotten me particularily interested because I'm going to have to fly Wens week. It seems a bit amusing, Bertie Ahern was talking on the radio (news snippets) recommending staff not to take action as there are many alternatives from Shamrock for the traveling public - is this a real pull...
