Have heard that Ryanair have stopped recruiting until next year...although its due to a lack of training captains. Don't know how true this is, anybody else hear the same?

Without doubt Waterford Aero Club is the best school. I have been to many schools and had many instructors and WAC comes out on top in all aspects. Only wish they were a FTO.

Don?t forget that this 10 miles out routine only works at uncontrolled airfields. When approaching controlled airfields you should call them sooner (also have a flight plan filed).

Probably stating the obvious....

Are you setting the altitude window to the desired altitude first? Try setting something above your current altitude and then arm the AP and select altitude hold.

Re: EI CHM

If it can happen to experienced guys like this, it should make us all take stock, and be that little more aware of the possibilities when taking to the skies.

My thoughts exacty. I was planning to bring a friend up flying on my next flight, but instead I'm going to prcatice some PFL's.

TolTol, Doesn't the 5% contingency only apply to aircraft operating on an AOC? Regards, Mark I have never heard that before (but that doesn't mean I'm correct). All I can tell you is that I was told to do it for my PPL, CPL and MEIR training. And any text I have read always included contingency. No...
