Re: Best €100 coffee on a weekday

Well the short answer is no, I didn't get to where I was going which was EGAD I GARed and filed (wouldn't it be nice if the online flight plan system emailed you a copy of your plan). I was a bit concerned about fog - though I rang EGAD and they said they could see right down the coast.... in the en...

Re: Best €100 coffee on a weekday

Cubpilot, Thanks for that. Have you claimed back from HM Customs? Just about to fax in the Irish Gar now... hope we don't get a repeat of this morning's fog. Hi Blueskies, fraid not just yet. Not keen on bringing anyone in the right seat yet. Not sure either I want any photographic evidence of my fl...

Re: Best €100 coffee on a weekday

Another vote for EGAD by PM !! I've been in touch with UFC and downloaded the GAR. Just need to dig out some sterling for lunch. I see from the Flying to the UK thread there seems to be an Irish GAR form. I've normally been outbound from EIWT, so I didn't have to deal with Irish Customs. Is that for...

Re: Best €100 coffee on a weekday

Was just looking at Enniskillen - even just for the exercise of filling out the forms. Pity they're both tarmac but I guess I have practise that too. If Newtonards has people and aeroplanes to see of a Friday that sounds like a good suggestion.

Best €100 coffee on a weekday

I've got a day off on Friday and the Wx looks good - question is where to go? Where's busy on a weekday.... and EIDW is not what I had in mind?

Suggestions, recommendations?

Re: Spanish Point celebrates 20 Years

Oh woooow.. You've just reminded me that I was there 20 years ago when Brendan Smith opened EISP. It was the weekend before I was starting my Leaving Cert!! I even got a hop in an R22 in return for a sketch I had been doing there. The Luscombe and I will do our best to be there to celebrate your 20 ...

Slightly tangential, does anyone know where Limerick Flying clubs Rallye BMJ ended up?

Unusual activiy off West Clare

Anybody know of anything or notice anything unusual flying around West Clare last night, round 1 am. Friend rang me about what they described as low flying aircraft coasting in and someone possibly signalling. I've told them to have a word with the Gardai about it. It's probably nothing but you have...

Best of luck with the new RTF and website; very slick looking indeed and really nice photos in the Galleries.

Re: Never Flown to Weston Before

You can use 118.5 > they'll give you a frequency for Dublin North if you need to talk to them but since, you're flying to EIWT 118.5 and then Weston on 122.4 for clearance into the zone should be fine. Having said that it might be no harm to use the relevant Radar frequency since anyone operating fr...
