Re: Helicopter forced to make emergency landing

If it's the one I saw lift from B'sloe yesterday evening I'm not at all surprised that a precautionary landing was required.

Re: NEW iPhone app - VFR Flight Guide

Hi Batman, comparitively speaking it's pricey for an app but given that its a very specialist app (Irish pilots, maybe a handful visitors) there's a limited market for EI-KEV. The price has to reflect his development costs....if had a market of hundreds of thousands I'm sure it would have a lower pr...

Re: Angel Flight Ireland?

You'd have to ensure the passengers were protected. E.g. how can you ensure that the aircraft being used are airworthy and that there is an adequate level of insurance for passengers? Surely not that difficult - after all, AngelFlight in the US would have had to address this question There would ha...

Re: Loan of EAA Sport Aviation Magazine

Ahem, indeed, good spot  I'm sure she wouldn't be impressed.

Well Trevor has offered May's edition but any of edition since Lane has started writing there would be good.

@Trevor, thanks for that. I badly need to adopt that housekeeping policy... have years of back-issues.

Loan of EAA Sport Aviation Magazine

Hiya,

Any EAA members on the forum care to loan me a recent copy of the EAA Sport Aviation Magazine?

I'm looking for any of the one's with Lance Wallace's column it it. I'm more happy to return it but before I sign up for a subscription I'd like to see what it's like.

Re: Angel Flight Ireland?

Same thing crossed my mind when I heard the news this morning.
Such an additional option might have helped.
Would there be enough crew/ac to be viable country wide?
I can't help but wonder that if they lived in the East would the story have been different?

Re: Buying a GPS

Mixturerich, Depends on your requirements I guess. The one's HUM mentioned are nice but were a little rich for me when I got my 96c. For vfr pootling the 96C is fine. Screen is a little small but it's very portable, robust, runs on 2 AAs, takes plans from my Skydemon software and is plenty fine for ...

Re: NMAI & FII Fly-In Clonbullogue July 2nd/3rd 2011

Thanks to FII and NMAI for a great weekend. Dropped in for a bit yesterday and there was a wonderful atmosphere !! A real sense of people making things work - parachutes, microlights, fixed wing, rotary wing all sharing the space safely . Well done to all concerned and a particular thanks to the IPC...

Re: Airspace land-grab again...

I agree that it's more civillian driven chane. This was the gist of my feedback: I'd just like to point out that for the purpose of flight training, it is considered safe practice to conduct stall training not below 3000 feet agl. A lowered base of CAS, will force training to take place further from...

Re: Chipmunk 169

I kinda like the three colour roundel. I know it's more difficult to do but that's part of it's appeal. Any country can do a cross or a star or concentric circles but it takes real talent to do nested circles
:-)
