Thanks for the responses guys, I think I will stick it out and hope to have license before the end of the year. It'll mean extending a bank loan but sure it'll be worth it. It's a little difficult at the minute because i'm doing my degree part-time and skipping college on a Thursday when the weather...

Morale........

Guys, I'd hate to be a wet blanket but with ever straining financial demands, unco-operative weather and 1 1/2 to 2 hour drive to the airfield I'm thinking of packing it all in after doing 18hours. It's taken me a year to get this far and although I love flying (as I'm sure everyone reading this doe...

Being a student in PPl (M) myself, my understanding is that, regardless of the amount of hours you've done, once you do pass your written exams you have two years from that date to pass you flight test otherwise theory tests must be repeated......

Cheers for all the replies guys. I'm ruling out training in the North as I'm already on 18hrs here. I was just throwing it out there to find out what I'd be doing after solo as I hadn't been in touch with my instructor for a while. Fingers crossed I'll be amongst you PPLs for some pleasure flying ne...

Excellent idea - would be worth at least more in depth investigation as to the feasibility of such an undertaking. I'm from that neck of the woods myself and I'd be interested in getting involved - keep us posted

Training chat

Hi Everyone, it occured to me that as a student pilot a really interesting bit of reading might be another student's or past student's training diary, you know, a rough outline of experiences, what a lesson invloved, how it benefited you - not a detailed journal but more a catalogue of lessons and s...

J.O. how long did the licence take you and how much did it cost???!! I've been weighing up the options of doing something similar as the weather here is so unreliable - it's the worst obstacle I've found to my training........

Speaking as a student pilot who is half way through my training (PPL (M)) and already struggling to come up with the funds to pay for my remaining hours I find it extraordinary - though not surprising- that yet again I'm going to find myself paying more and more money for this addictive hobby. I kno...
