Re: US PPL TRAINING

I've been to OBA/EASA for CPL and know a lot of lads that did their PPL there. Tough part for most was doing the exams and flying from scratch in 3 weeks but many of them did it when they put the work in. You have a huge advantage in that exams will be done. Again it's only the CAA exams that count ...

Re: Aer Lingus Cadetship - Applications Open

Already degenerating into bullshit and nonsense. A local airline is offering cadetships and apprenticeships in a recession and the best thing you can think of, is to knock it?! Get real. The company is thinking about the future instead of failing to provide for it. regards Stovepipe Well said Fugly...

Re: Aer Lingus Cadetship - Applications Open

A few thoughts on this, possibly a money maker for AL either in the short term or the long term in that they can more easily bypass the unions by re negotiating contracts for the cadets. They got rid of a lot of guys not so long ago on good contracts. They say it's part sponsored so be interesting t...

Free Aviation Magazines

Hi,

I'm clearing out my house and have a a mixture of approx 45 aviation magazines.

There are a mixture of titles from Ireland, UK, Australia and off the top of my head the oldest magazine is 4 years old. I'm in the Dublin area.

Free to a good home!

Regards,

Andy

Re: Where to sit PPL exams?

Congrats Wilco! If you passed that exam at 95% the rest will be a breeze.. :D Yeah Steve is bang on, nice relaxed guy who defo knows his stuff. You could check out CAP 413, it's an RT publication by the CAA, fairly concise and a sure cure for insomnia! Here's a link http://www.caa.co.uk/docs/33/CAP4...

Garmin SD Card North America & Canada

Hi, If anyone is heading to the North America or Canada I have a Garmin SD Card for North America & Canada coverage (for a car!) I bought 2 months ago from Garmin. Fits most GPS units, just slot it in the side, you can check your GPS compatibility on the Garmin website or ask me and I'll confirm. I ...

Discount Flying Lessons

Found this if anyone's interested, it's a Groupon offer so only for today. It's with Usher Aviation in Sligo, £88/€100 for an hour lesson, not bad. Voucher is valid until December 2011 so be careful with that, plenty of people have trouble using vouchers within a year never mind 6 months..! http://w...

Re: Where to sit PPL exams?

How's it going Wilco, Important to find where you'll do the actual PPL flight training and test, there's no crossover with PPL exams between the CAA and IAA although there is with the ATPLs. Seen a guy get caught out by this before!! At PPL level, the IAA will NOT accept a pass in the JAR-FCL PPL ex...
