Used both, Saitek one for me all the way. I didn't use anything prior or during my Ir, but did after it to keep current. I now fly under IFR daily, I still use the yoke in coordination with FSX regularly to practice raw instrument stuff. Saitek gets the thumbs up from me. If you're South Dublin you ...

Bristol GS in the Uk is your best option. PROPER instructors, really good assistance and a good deal all round.

Very expensive? Unless the prices have been hiked Irish style in the past 2 years they were more economical even than the States when I was there! I have an instructor friend out over there I must ask how much they charge now!

A little off topic, but Canada is worth considering for PPL training. There you would do a Transport Canada licence. I did a CAA PPL over there a few years ago and found the country amazing to fly in. Winter weather and snow covered landscapes make you become a very good navigator! There's little ai...

If there is an instructor on board, you cannot log it as PIC. As far as I'm concerned PICUS is only used when you successfully pass a skills test of some sort.

Plus, only one person can log the hours so I would expect the instructor did this and logged it as PIC..
