I've always been under the impression that there's nothing up in that area - apart from the station in the middle of nowhere they used in the film 'Trainspotting'.

Use of Mobiles

The whole question of mobile interference to a GPS system was given an extensive, if undecided, airing by the AAIU in their report on the fatal crash of EI-ONE near Dingle in August 2002 (m). Safety Recommendation 30 of 2003 recommended the circulation of AIC 17/00 (use of mobile telephones on aircr...

m They started off as a US Supplemental Type Carrier doing a lot of troop flights (see also Trans International Airways) and are one of the few of that breed to survive (unlike TIA). Used to have this very 70's style logo in red and gold - looked like a small globe being cradled in a Nike-style swoo...

I would agree with Shrtfld. Facts are fine and always will be. But let's leave innuendo and aspersions to the tabloid newspapers. There'll be less lawsuits that way. Talking of which 'Daily Ireland', one of our lesser known national newspapers features this exact story as its front page lead today, ...

Or try the old-fashioned way...dictate it down the phone to AIS EINN on 061 703730. That way when Dublin Information question your right to be in the sky, they can't claim your fax never transmitted.

Thanks Fox Papa, I uploaded the painting from my work PC as a test having failed miserably to display the B?cker pictures once I had gotten them onto Mark's server. For you culture vultures, it's taken from the exhibition "Futurist Skies: Italian Aeropainting", an exhibition of 1930's art which was ...

I just popped in for an hour on Saturday morning. I have to say I was very impressed with the club's organisation for the event. It was the first time I ever had a 'follow me' car escort me to parking! It was a chopped-up old-style Mini made into a two seater spyder. The bootlid folds down on these ...

I would imagine they're JAA licences rather than IAA licences issued in Hawkins Street. Don't knock it. I got issued an FAA licence in Philadelphia by showing up with my IAA licence and a US-issued medical. No exams or nuthin'. Don't begrudge the Easterners their access to shiny Western aeroplanes o...
