missing topic message date and time
Hi Mark, Just noticed, when I open any topic the message date and time are both missing on my screen. A large sky blue bar with the topic title on the left appears above the post box, with no date & time. But as I compose a message and scroll down to previous posts both time & date are visible. Is m...

Re: New Forum?
The majority of people who use social media are not interested in search or research. They only want to "post" "get a reply" "re-post" and so on. Then on to the next topic and on and on!!. Yesterdays topics are history and as such seldom resurrected, so no need or want for "search". Unfortunately so...

Re: New Forum?
Hi Jon, The old forum was dying anyway, as are the majority of online forums. This has happened since the upsurge of Facebook plus the many other social networks. I actually have a forum on my website and while I got a few visitors over the last four years, I have never had one single contributor. T...

Re: swapping schools for winter
Well done Martins, A few years ago a friend of mine had a job that involved literally moving around the country from area to area. During that time he took flying lessons when and where he could manage. It was 40 hours back then. He ended up with 58 hours before doing his flight test and passed firs...

Re: Setting Up Own airfield
Costs, that's one of the unknown biggie's. There are no set figures because for each permission and environmental impact study (if one is required) costs will definitely vary. Rent will be a matter for the owner and the tenant, which will depend on duration and type of tenancy. Other cost factors ar...

Re: Setting Up Own airfield
martins, Just one point, you say "I don't think you can apply for a planning permission for land that doesn't belong to you" . Unless new rules have come in recently, you can in fact apply for permission on land that you do not own. I done this myself for my sister who lived in London and was planni...

Re: Aviators guide OR Kevin Glynn VFR Flight guide.
Simple answer Arrow, is purchase BOTH. That's exactly what I did. While the majority of locations are repeated in both titles, there are enough different sites included in both to make a double purchase worthwhile. Also it's good to get a slight variation of information for each of the repeated loca...

Re: Helicopter down
Hi Michael, You state: What is the relevance of it being near a school? In the middle of the summer holidays? Probably of little relevance, but you know the press, they have to sensationalise every story. In fact the small shed in the top pic is inside the school boundary fence. So it was close. At ...
