    I did a project a few years back for college and the engineers in my local airfield were only to happy to bring me in and show me about. Big advantage is you get to see the plane with all the outer casing taken off and the inner workings, maybe an idea?

    I had done my class 1 intial in mid july, the following year i did my renewal in june but they still gave it to me till mid july even though i did the test in june.

    i cant remember but i think its a month or 2 early you can sit it

    NFC do rentals now as well, cant remember the exact figure but the C172s were about 170e/hr. The checkout depending on how long you need

    Is see on the uk met website from Nov 5th we'll be getting 30 hour tafs.

    I can't see them being overly reliable!! Not in this country anyway!!

    Cloud base only counts if the clouds is broken or overcast. you can fly above cloud VFR but you have to be able to see enough of the ground to navigate. So in the below example your cloud base would be 1800ft

    In Ireland you can only fly SVFR in controlled airspace at night with the night rating unless you're IFR. Only real reason to get one is for your CPL.
