Re: Night Flight around Boyle

I'm pretty sure @ 5,000 ft a Cessna would be pretty quiet........ Almost silent even unless it was a particularly quiet night. (Wind)

Re: Night Flight around Boyle

Not to nitpick...... But "Big Jim" stated that it was "Circling the town". Sounds to me like either Air corps or a pleasure flight. (Legal or illegal) Not cross-country (point to point). But actual information doesn't seem to be forthcoming...... Wanna fight about it Hum ? ?

Re: Night Flight around Boyle

I thought all flights apart from Airline transport & related commercial stuff had to be conducted within control zones. The IAA make no provisions for night cross countries or ops outside control zones. (At least for light aircraft or so I thought)

Re: Are these planes still flying?

Hi, the 3 registrations you mention show as current on the aircraft register. Type them in to the Aircraft Register link on the left of the page. Details there. I remember the Guinness biplane @ Abbyshrule from when I was a kid. A Starduster wasn't it ? ? It was re branded with a different livery a ...

Aer Arann put under examinership

Seems Aer Arann's feeling the pinch.

Flights as yet are unaffected. If it goes under regional airports will suffer. Espically those that Aer Arann is the only commercial operator. EICM (Galway) springs to mind.

Re: Oil for Rotax 912 engines

Back when I operated a 912 I was recommended to use 5W40. To help better regulate oil temps. Never had any problems with it. Forget the brand name. 5W40 Came also as "Rotax Recommended" but I guess to each their own.
