Re: Flightfest

Great day and event and really well done to organisers. One blight on the event for me and anyone around where I stood was the moron  sounding the horn on the ship every time you wanted to hear the engines above ! I'm sure the organisers (and anyone I spoke to !!) would love to have shoved ...

PPL Life Insurance

It's hard to post this given the recent tragic events in our community, but it's long been on my mind and possibly was, if I'm true, brought to a point last weekend. I have a life insurance policy that I took out many years before I decided to get a PPL, and have been told (not by the Insurance comp...

Six Moose !!!

Mick and Paddy, (for the benifit of the Joke, but can be Cameron and George !) go for their annual moose shoot in the Canadian Wilderness. They hire the pilot to take the light aircraft up into the wilds where he drops them off. They have a great few days in the wilderness, and manage to shoot six M...

Re: Model Aircraft over Croke Park Mayo V Kerry

Thanks people, on behalf of all patrons in Croke Park, the Garda Helicopter (regular visitor over Hogan Stand at 50m to 100m AGL), and the banner towing Cub, we're relieved that there is no danger in this type of model flying. I'm beginning to think I'm just a worry boots, I'll shut up so, and liste...

Re: Dublin Bombing article June Flying in Ireland

Funny you should say about 'first hand' because my Mother (Late RIP) always regaled me with stories about herself and fellow boarders in Eccles Street Dominican Convent, looking out their windows and seeing two 'fighters' fly past their window one chasing the other on the same night as the bombings....

Re: Weston into receivership

As one who has been through the receivership mill, I can with authority say that the best scenario that can be described to the process is that it buys you time. The scenario havana_club69 has posted would mean I'd be making alternative plans if I were staff or tenant. If a sale cannot be agreed loc...

Re: Informing IAA about medical conditions

I'd like to remind you that some of her Irish predecessors were as bad or worse. When all civilian CPLs had to go thru Bricins', along with the Air Corps fellas, passing the Class 1 was damn hard and it was a lot easier to be failed than passed. Anyone who wore glasses had a tough time and I know o...
