Because as they currently stand they can't do it. Reliability is the key word here.

I am a little dissappointed with these 1:250 maps. No flight information for NI (you are asked to kindly refer to your 1:500), if I remember correctly the 1:500 was in a similar format some years back lacking this same info, only to be amended at a later date. The back to back format doesn't make th...

Beaumont doesn't have a heli pad like Tallaght for example, but it does have a football pitch which is very closeby. The Air Corp and Coast Guard would have a list of hospital landing sites they can and can't use.

Does anyone know what hospitals in the Dublin area he could have been airlifted to? I know he was taken to Drogheda but curious to know which hospitals around Dublin have a helipad. Tallagh and Drogheda were available at the time of the accident. As I understand it, Beaumont has now been added to th...

Was this an old Airfield that was ther...

Welcome Bud. Your age certainly isn't a problem, you are as young as you feel.I did some fix wing flying as a teenager many years ago. Then there was a big gap, I started again at 31 had my cpl by 34 and have been flying full time ever since. Enjoy the experience.
