Re: Hi all im new :) Few questions

Or instructors not giving proper lesson and just being there to build hours towards cpl / atpl One place you definitely won't get that is at the Leinster Aero Club, based out at Trevet near Dunshaughlin. Really experienced instructors there and are purely doing it for the love of flying. Can't reco...

Has the number of hours you can transfer to getting a PPL(A) rating changed at all? Previously it was very low at about 10 hours or so.

Irish Aviation Podcast

Hi all, I found this on iTunes and thought people might be interested; it's a podcast by a local student pilot recording his experiences of learning to fly here in Ireland. There's only two episodes so far, but might be worth watching in the future. http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/maiden-flight-p...

Re: Angel Flight Ireland?

how can you ensure that the aircraft being used are airworthy and that there is an adequate level of insurance for passengers? The GA pilot may well be delighted to assist if asked but in reality when his/her assistance is asked for, that pilot may not be in any position to respond. Just take the m...

Re: Angel Flight Ireland?

This is something that I've been thinking about for some time and would love to see an Angel Flight Ireland get off the ground. The American model is a very interesting one to look at and obviously there would be big differences in how we do things here but here's some of my thoughts so far. 1: Our ...

PPL(M) to PPL(A)

Hi all, I know this has been brought up before but just thought I'd share with you a portion of an email that I received from the IAA on the official path to PPL(A) from PPL(M), if anybody is interested. Cheers, F. "There is a sort of path from an IAA PPL(M) to an IAA JAR PPL(A) but to be honest, it...

Re: Cost of ppl training

You can only use 1/3 of your hours from your PPL(M) to transfer to your PPL(A) so if you have done say 9 hours microlight training you could only transfer 3, this is to stop people taking the cheap option of doing PPL(M) and then just changing Thanks very much for that clarification C152. Makes sen...

Re: Cost of ppl training

Has anybody out there started out getting the PPL(M) license and then upgraded to the PPL(A) license? I'm interested to see if it is worth my while getting the microlight license first and then upgrading to the airplane license. Is there a recognized method to upgrade ie.extra number of hours, addit...

Re: Newcastle

Are there any companies or clubs based out of Newcastle providing PPL training? I live in Dublin south and Newcastle would be a handy place to learn.

Thanks in advance.
