We are a 'not for profit' organisation operating seven days per week and offering Private Pilot Licence training. http://www.recreationalflyingclub.blogspot.com" onclick="window.ope...

Re: NFC/ Flightwise/ East Coast Flight School?
You could also come down to Kilkenny and learn to fly with the Recreational Flying Club. We may be a Club rather than a school but we are available seven days a week and the cost of flying is likely to be lower. http://www.recreationalflyingclub.blogspot.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return f...

Re: Support Erinagh Airfield
Very disappointed to hear that Erinagh airfield is no longer licensed. Private licensed airfields are a very precious resource for sport flying.
Is there any hope of reinstatement of the licence for Erinagh?

Re: TMG Licence
Yes you can do your PPL(A) on a TMG. Just means that initial issue is with a TMG Class rating. We do the instrument appreciation on our TB9 (SEP) and so it makes sense to get the SEP Class rating as well. The IAA have appointed an examiner so there is no problem with the skill test. As a general poi...

Re: PPL in ireland or USA?
Ever throught of doing your PPL full time here in Ireland. We can offer the course based on a dual rate of 140/hr. While two weeks is not possible here due to weather etc, it is probably not the best way to train anyway. Check out http://www.recreationalflyingclub.blogspot.com" onclick="window.open(...

Re: Kilkenny
Hopefully only temporary planning issues which will be resolved in due course. The airfield has been in operation since 1962 and has been a licensed airfield for much of that time. It has also enjoyed the support of the Local Authority for many years and has contributed to the local area as an ameni...

Re: Kilkenny Airfield Fly-in 2010
What €10 landing fee? Generally there is no landing fee for private flights. Contributions towards running costs are of course always welcome.

Ethanol in Unleaded Petrol
Does anyone know what the situation is with regard to the continuing supply of Ethanol free Unleaded petrol? Rumour has it that it may soon become unavailable. This would obviously have serious consequences for many PPLs and Flying Clubs. AVGAS is not much of an alternative given the high price and ...
