Re: Light aircraft down near Birr

Very sad. I knew the instructor, we did some of our training together. He was a nice fella and was always up for a laugh.

Where to go?

Hi all

Just trying to plan where I will fly over the weekend and I am just looking for suggestions. It needs to be within a 90 NM radius of EICK but does not have to be an airfield, just somewhere with something strange or intresting.

Thanks!

Hi all
I would just like to get some info on Waterford Aero Club. Any info would be appreciated and also are any of their aircraft capable of IFR?

Thanks in advance.

Re: School selection problem's

I did all of my training at Atlantic. I had no problems and I flew my first passenger's last Sunday with Ryanair on the B738. Airlines are really not worried about the integrated thing, they are more worried about your skill, personality etc. Most of my friends that I trained with have also got into...

Re: SEIR revalidation

It can definitely be done and I have it in writing from the IAA. I have emailed them to check the procedure, I think it's not a well known fact that it can be done and it's buried in JAR-FCL 1 somewhere. Yes I am staying in the Bokloster and it's as colourful as ever :D Can not believe I am here 5 w...

SEIR revalidation

Hi all I am currently up in Stockholm doing my B737 type rating and I have my LST in just over 2 weeks. My single pilot IR expires on the 21st of April and I would like the examiner to sign my licence to revalidate the IR. I have the 3 IFR departures/arrivals done on a C172 in the last 12 months and...

Flight time limitations

Hi all

Would anyone know if the 900 hours per year limit used by airlines is inclusive of of private flying or is this counted separate? I would like to keep flying SEP's if possible.

Thanks for the help.

Re: irish atc on strike

Its an absolute scandal! They are making people fly full SIDS/STARS no shortcuts. In Cork today they would not file local flight plans as they have done for years! Said people would have to file a proper plan because of the work to rule. It's not going to help ATC-pilot relations which can already b...

Re: Tail Wheel

I have been in contact with Vincent and it sounds like a good set up there, hopefully I will get it done in a few months when the type rating is out of the way :D

Re: SEP Revalidation

Keith. The IAA probally wont be able to sign a CAA licence but if you have the required hours for the revalidation and show them your logbook they should be able to sort out your new IAA licence.

Re: Tail Wheel

I am hoping to do a tailwheel checkout when I have a bit more time. What clubs/schools currently do tailwheel checkouts?

Re: SEP Revalidation

Thanks for the replies. Went to the IAA today and they revalidated the SEP for me and I keep the 7th of April expiry date in 2012. The 3 month time restriction is a UK CAA limit.
