Re: Skydemon Mobile GPS - any advice?

Check it out on the ipad before buying a standalone unit. Used it recently on overseas trip fantastic, you can also buy a Bluetooth receiver for about 100e. If you buy a stand alone sky demon unit that's all you have, whereas the ipad you can use for other things. Annual sub initial approx 120e redu...

Re: Air Nav Pro Iphone

Have not tried it in anger yet but works well in the car in flight mode. The only ICAO maps available for download at the moment are Germany and Netherlands and US Sectionals. Map detail and zones airfields appear pretty good but like everything else would only trust as a back up at this stage until...

Air Nav Pro Iphone

FYI Just downloaded Air Nav Pro @ 30 euro. Very good GPS nav with free maps (optional ICAO maps to buy) well worth a punt as a back up GPS. See link below and link. http://appshopper.com/navigation/air-nav Air Navigation is a real-time aircraft navigation application with integrated flight planning....

32Kts @ 500 ft

Not enjoyable however like with all planing 'fail to prepare is preparing to fail'. If you think you may have to fly over prepare for it. I would also like to quote a very experienced person name not mentioned ' a engine does not it is over water' think about all the hours you have flown over land w...

Few more points of note

Other couple of points to consider; 1. Has the aircraft got product support without this spare's, A/D compliance may be an issue along with the ability to get it on a c of a. 2. With a Permit to Fly aircraft that meets Annex 2 the engine can go on condition over 2000hrs as long as it is maintained a...

Remember in Weston there was grass before tarmac

I am glad to see that GA was welcome to Weston transponder or no transponder (bales or no bales).
There was only one Captain, Captain Kennedy. Flying was Weston the Rallye in the circuit the Captain on his bike that was flying no radio using your eyes and seat of the pants :) :) :) :) :)
