alcock and brown airshow clifden

the alcock and brown clifden airshow will take place on the 13th of june.
the show is FREE and will take place over clifden bay.
A very exciting lineup has been put together.More details will be available on clifden.ie in the next week or so.I will also post more detail here when we can.

ya just the strip finished in clifden.part of planning was island had to be finished before they could start mainland strip.dont know if it will be licenced first.hope they get planning for terminal.usual objectors that have moved into the area for the quiet life and don't want to see progress.

yes this project is still under construction.The strip has been completed some 600m hard surface.new planning permission being sought for terminal building i believe.strip on inisbofin also complete,awaiting licence.

will keep everyone informed once things are confirmed.
Re mil aircraft.i think all aspects of aviation should be celebrated.

Don't know if heli was irish reg.This was a long time ago,15 yrs possibly. helipad,Clifden

Hi Guys,thanks for info and clips of bolkow.Re Joe Durnin,I think it was a B206 he flew,dont know reg.He was a Donegal man but based in Cork. The old helipad in Clifden was situated in what is now the kiddies playground next to the pier.There is a newer one next to the playground but is in bad shape...

Sponge Bob thanks for the memories.Thats where it all started for me,flying out of the old helipad.Sitting beside Joe Durnin with Ciaran Joyce(RIP) in the back.Now all these years later am doing my own CPL(H).Took a long time to get here ,but its getting done.Do you know if there is any more of this...
