PPL in Florida-Total cost

Hi all, Seriously considering doing my PPL next year Florida with a long-term view to gain ATPL. I have the funds available and am in a full time job so it will have to be done over a month (maximum). Have 20 days holidays a year with work so will more than likely take all these. Going to go the mod...

Re: Enniskillen PPL

Thanks Andy for that. Sounds appealing the Florida route but I suppose as you say its a heck of a lot of cash to spend over a short period of time. I think that doing it week in week out in Enniskillen would give me something to look forward to/work towards each week and also give me the opportunity...

Re: Enniskillen PPL

Excellent Pearse, thanks for the detailed reply. I will give them a ring for sure but I'll not be able to start for another month or two (until I get my Master's out of the way) but it does same like the "ideal" place for me to train. Realistically i'd like to get my ppl within the year so all going...

Enniskillen PPL

Hi all, I've just landed a job so I've decided to bite the bullet and go for my ppl. I've had numerous introductory flights over the years but now I am now in a position to go flying once a week every week to complete my ppl. As the title suggest I plan on doing it in Enniskillen. I've heard very go...

Re: PPL Hourly Costs

Thanks Michael for the reply.

Yes the aircraft is a cessna 152. I had my first lesson there last Saturday and was a great experience and now want to hopefully try and fly every 2 weeks.

Thanks again for your input.

PPL Hourly Costs

Hi all,

I've decided to start doing my ppl seriously and just wondering what the normal prices are for lessons. I have been quoted a figure of 175 Euro/hour at a local flying School but not sure if this is good value or not?

I'm in the Cavan area.

Thanks

CTC Wings

Hi all I've been selected to attend stage 2 of the CTC Wings cadet program (http://www.ctcwings.com/) however i'm unsure of what to do. I know the job market in aviation is dire at the moment, especially for pilots so i'm just asking for peoples opinion on whether to attend or not as all in all it w...

So if i did the modular CPL/MEIR and completed the written ATPL exams were would that leave me? Is that basically at the same position as say going to Jerez and doing the integrated course? i.e. Ready for hiring? Thats the plan anyway.Hopefully 4-5 years working as an engineer will free up some cash...

Cheers for the reply Wolfie. Iv considered in depth doing the full ATPL course in PTC but after reading some comments on here im now not so sure.Price is obviously a major factor and by all accounts they're not "cheap" for what you recieve. Jerez in Spain seems a good option but again i ha...

Thanks for the reply Roger. It doesn't sound too promising at all. Pity becasue its what i really want to do. I suppose i can always work as an engineer and clock up hours in ireland. Would be nice to complete a ppl in America during the summer but again money is the obstacle. The demand for airline...
