There are only really three possible schools where you can find work for pay. The NFC, Atlantic in Cork and PTC in Waterford. Suggest you get in touch with them. The NFC is the only one I know anything about. They will expect a high standard. They also tend to prefer those instructors they train the...

Yeager's book is indeed a great read but many pinches of salt must be taken with it. He claimed he could see fighters 60 miles away! Particularly with his famous NF104 crash which was heavily featured in 'The Right Stuff' movie. Which I definitely recommend as a pressie. The additional stuff alone i...

The answer is obvious: One Six Right and it's companion DVD. m The perfect film for the flying enthusiast. If that doesn't inspire you to fly, nothing will. Any film that can make a Cessna 172 or 414 look interesting has to be good. The low flying Cub in their screenshots section is my current wallp...

Ryanair aren't recruiting at the moment. The last training course is either finished or about to. There are people who have been selected for the next course due to start next March. If you read their website you'll notice they have plenty of applicants. So you will be at the back of long queue. The...

No, But I'm sure you could schedule it so you can spend all day there and fly as much as possible and get some ground school while you are at it. Just because it's a modular course doesn't mean you can't get organised. It's the same with the NFC. PTC is a modular course organised as if it was integr...

Hum is indeed correct, J3cub but so is N.. all the numbers. As Hum said, no moisture no icing - the aim is to fly in VMC on top, not stay stuck in the soup. That would indeed be the aim, but what happens when you need to descend? Or climb to get up to the nice VMC on top? There's that ice laden clou...

Kevin Glynn's VFR flight guide is what you need. Although I'm not sure of the availability right now. I'm sure someone will come along update us with it's current status. Pilotshop.ie might have some. There is rarely a landing fee but often prior permission is required, if only to let you know that ...

Is it released to the public because on reading the help page this arises: The Met SBU is available to airline companies, services agents, managers of small airports and pilots who are designated as approved users by Met Éireann. Normally this applies to airlines that fly into or out of Irish airpor...

Nothing wrong with a night rating, it's useful experience. But it's really useable unless you live near a regional airport with class C airspace. The IR is difficult and expensive to get and maintain and you not much use to you unless you have access to a suitably equipped aircraft. Tailwheel traini...
