Re: Cessna 100/200 Series SIDs

Does anyone know the details of the "Cessna Publications Revision Service"? In particular how much does Cessna charge for this? I assume that it is not specific to one aircraft - i.e. I assume that a Maintenance Organisation subscribes to it and then has access for a year say, to all the relevant re...

Galway Airport

Is there some good news here?
The NOTAM says it is now licensed for Day VFR in Class G airspace and new licensee is:

CARNMORE AVIATION LTD,
GALWAY AIRPORT,
COUNTY GALWAY.

Re: Personal accident insurance for PPLs?

It was an add-on to the aircraft policy by the same broker with the same insurers.

Re: Personal accident insurance for PPLs?

I took out an additional policy for Personal Accident insurance for the left hand seat - in addition to the aircraft policy. It cost about £200stg extra. However, like everything to do with insurance, you have to read the small print and be sure you know what you are actually getting or paying for. ...

The Wingtip Vortices you mean? High pressure air under the wing. Low pressure air above the wing. The air leaks around the wingtip from high to low pressure area. At the same time air is flowing from leading edge (front) to trailing edge (rear). The interaction of these 2 flows causes air to corkscr...

Re: Galway Zone

I wouldn't worry too much about the NOTAM. If the airport was going to reopen before then, it would be easy to issue a new NOTAM superseding that information. Don't forget that the local elections are in May and the candidates are already out canvassing. This is the ideal time to be pushing for the ...

Headset for sale

I have an ASA HS1 headset with carrying bag/case for sale. This is the older one with the boom microphone - not the latest one with the flex type mic (HS1a). Got very little use and is in good condition and clean. Reason for selling is that I switched a long time ago to 2 David Clark headsets and th...

Presumably this doesn't affect those airports which were designated 24H - i.e. which have full time Customs?

Re: IAA Ramp Inspections and SAFA inspections

Like XPRO, I would have thought that Insurance documents were required to be carried on board. However, as far as I can see, and maybe someone more knowledgeable can correct me, it is Section 20 of the Air Navigation (Operations) Order 1964 that prescribes the documents to be carried. Insurance isn'...

Re: Galway Zone

NOTAM says "Aerodrome closed except to based aircraft". The same NOTAM says the various navaids are out of service, 2 of them permanently. Since Galway City and County Councils are the new owners of the airport, one can only assume that they have decided that only sitting tenants like the Galway Fly...
