Re: Flying to Sligo - advice required

For the latest EISG and EIDL METARs see here http://www.dawn-it.com/met/ or Tel 353 719168712 (2 minute updates)

I landed there a month ago and paid €15 landing fee, and €2.36/ltr AVGAS.

It's been asked a lot of times but you keep dodging it - answer it once and for all and and you may win a bit m...

Re: Seaplane service from Galway Docks to Foynes

Maybe in Canada they don't have a bunch of waster busy-bodies like An Taisce, who seem to automatically object to everything first off.

Re: New FII Site

Seeing as I'm using IE8 I'm sure it's another in the long list of problems I've been finding with it.  If Microsoft ever launch a product that does NOT have bugs then I'll eat my hat!

Re: New FII Site

I like the new site but I think the Airfield section is a step down on what it was before. The photos are gone and the info is a bit higgldey piggldey. Bring back the photos please!!

From AIP 1.10-11
RMK/
Any other plain language remarks when required by the appropriate ATS authority or deemed necessary.
I think you just write the first RMK/, then write the rest in plane english. Each different remark is a new sentence, ie. separate the remarks with a full stop.

If I were doing it then I'd draw a straight line from Kilcock to EIKN. There are still plenty of good landmarks along the way. For example, the line passes: -just north of Mullingar (Lough Owel), -midway between Longford and Lough Ree, -over the village of Tulsk. From their I would be calling EIKN T...

In my opinion anyone who has any reservations about declaring an emergency on an engine failure should not be allowed have a licence. Listen to this clip. This guy landed on a highway but regrets not having declared an emergency. He has done so twice since and there were no repercussions. http://www...
