Flying PPL in Ireland with a foreign CPL

Hey folks,
Someone recently told me you can fly PPL in Ireland with a Canadian or FAA CPL. How do I go about doing this, do I need to take a JAA medical, fill out forms etc, or can I just get straight into it? All advice welcome!

JAA/ CAA/ FAA licence being combined?

Hey guys, I heard a while back that the JAA/CAA and FAA licence is going to be combined, that is they are standardising the 3 licences. Anyone got any info for me on that? Or am I way off the mark? I'm about to get a Canadian Cpl on helis, and I don't fancy another 8 months of hard study to get my J...
