Death Of Dr Derek McCoy

Sadly Derek passed away suddenly this week. He will be remembered, and missed, by many. He did his best to help all in the flying community keep flying. He also enjoyed nothing better than going off on a trip with his pals in the G-AVIC group.

Deepest sympathy to his wife and family R.I.P.

Hi Suas Although I have no problem with either Atlantic or PTC I would suggest you go down to PTC and look at the set up. They are geared up to getting you through with the flying and exams. Then compare the two organisations, based on service, quality, and lastly cost. One may look more expensive, ...

You mentioned it was a cub type aircraft.

I seem to remember that there is a group at Rathcoole who fly a cub might be worth contacting them to warn them about jumpers.

Can you tell me which bank is giving the great exchange rate.

The doctor and nurses were looking at their competition online when I was there last year. Some Dutch company I think. Sounds omious given the Lady we are all discussing is of that nationality, or is there a plan that she will want us to go to the Netherlands for our medicals. Suggest we all club t...

Agree with all the comments. Abrupt Ill Mannered Unproffessional For someone who is earning a large amount of money, for doing very little she really has some neck. It is about time the IAA woke up to the fact the are a service provider and this is what we pay these exhorbitant amounts of money for....

This piece of poetry seems apt at this sad time. High Flight ( An Airman'Ecstasy Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of earth and danced the skies on laughter silvered wings; Sunward I've climbed and joined the tumbling mirth Of sun split clouds~and done a hundred things you have not dreamed of; Whee...

Try Navcom in Cork 021-4354334 or Mobile 087-2560284.

They are very helpful and I have found them good to deal with both on price & service.

Hi Stovepipe, I would agree with you on that. My information came from the OS office some time ago' when the IAA made there first attempt at cartography. I had phoned to order charts to be told "We no longer produce them, the IAA have taken over that duty". We would all be better off if th...

Bleriot, Reference Stovepipes comment that it was the Ordinance Survey who produce the charts, sorry you are wrong. A number of years ago the IAA decided they would produce the charts themselves, and a right mess they have made of it so far if you look back at their three attempts so far. An AIC in ...

Recently went to EIWF on a training flight, and was asked for ?24 landing charge for a Cherokee. No wonder they can't attract any serious airline business.
