Kilkenny Aerodrome - New Website
Kilkenny Aerodrome's new website is now live. What might interest you all the most is the Video Gallery showing a 15 min video of flying at the aerodrome back in 1970. If you have any video or photos of Kilkenny Aerodrome and/or your aircraft at Kilkenny we would love to add them to the new website....

Kilkenny Airfield History
I'm looking to collect as much history on Kilkenny Airfield that I possibly can. It's one of the oldest airfields in the country and I took ownership of it in April of this year. I now own a real piece of Irish aviation history. It's 51 years old and was founded in 1963. if you have any pictures, lo...

Kilkenny Aerodrome - C-172 Aircraft Hire
As part of acquiring Kilkenny Aerodrome I am promoting the idea of providing 2 x C-172 aircraft which will be based at the airfield for hire. I can supply modern 172's (180-hp skyhawks) or older versions so it depends on the amount you budget to spend per hour. It all depends on the level of interes...

Re: Galway Airport
The good news is that from April onwards the airport will be open every weekend. Your right that most GA pilots are out and about on weekends. The more interest in flying in there and using the facility the more justify able it is for the tower to open to visiting traffic. With such a terrible wet w...

Re: Galway Airport
Thanks for well wishes :) The navigation charge is definitely gone. I think everyone agrees that was utterly rediculas. So GA now inherits the fine facilities of Galway Airport. The facilities are fantastic and we are very excited about being here. Check out our Facebook page for some nice aerial sh...

Galway Airport
Remember when Galway Airport was famous for not being very welcoming to GA? Well I'm very glad to report that is no longer the case. There is a new manager running the place. His name is John Madden and he's an absolute gentleman. John does not have an aviation background and so he is not caught up ...

Re: Low Level over Boyle
Nice looking aircraft! I have made several thousand skydives from FL130 from these fine machines.
Pity we don't see more of these aircraft operating around Ireland.
Anyone know what the survey is for? Ordinance, Geological????

Nice Quote. I like it...
and that is certainly what we hope to be the case at this stage jm2833530.
A man can only cry wolf so many times...
it should be a criminal offence in my opinion to use state resources in this fashion.

Re: PART M - M.A. 201 - Aircraft Airworthiness Responsibility
@Stovepipe Your State: "A lot of owners believe that the responsibility lies with the engineers, but it clearly doesn't." This matter is not so "clear". We have established the owner of light aircraft (weighing less then 5700 kgs) have the right to contract a Subpart G Continuing Airworthiness Manag...

Re: Aerobatics course in Ireland
As far as I know the new EASA PART regs coming into force soon will require formal training and as I understand it a certification in the license to be authorised to do Aerobatics...
That is definitely worth signing up for!! and great to know we can hopefully do it in Ireland.

Re: PART M - M.A. 201 - Aircraft Airworthiness Responsibility
Thanks for the input Stovepipe. Your interpretation of it is helpful but rather confusing to me in another sense though. I would appreciate if you could develop a bit more on it. You say the owner is "Ultimately" responsible but the CAMO is responsible for the "proper accomplishment of these tasks" ...
