where to go for lunch - EINC
Apart from the based pilots not too many visitors have been using the catering facilities at Newcastle, not quite the "$100 hamburger", but good sandwiches, tea/coffee and some all-too-tempting cake has been available at Newcastle on Sats/Suns from 10 am to 5.30 pm. Somewhere to go for lunch ..........

Re: ERRORS in the VFR Flight Guide.
That's good, jonkil, thanks. Looking at the map, Inishbofin and Cleggan are still sitting there uselessly, does anyone know whether any vote-hungry candidate might have promised to get them opened? It's even worse than some of the West of Scotland madness, to have two little airports that closed bef...

Re: ERRORS in the VFR Flight Guide.
A Garmin-uploadable waypoints database would be great, along with a pdf version. I appreciate this could however result in a wider distribution than Kevin might intend .......

Re: ERRORS in the VFR Flight Guide.
Kevin, could you change the indexing arrangement, I never managed to get the hang of it!
Also the airfield marked on the map as 2C3 does not seem to exist?
Great work.

Re: Mogas and Ethanol
I recently did a little test with Maxol petrol advertised as having 5% ethanol, and Esso regular unleaded. First I carefully did the test-tube procedure, adding petrol to about 10% water and shaking, then seeing whether the interface between the water and the petrol moved. Neither Maxol nor Esso tes...

I have heard reports of UK NPPL holders writing to the DGAC in France (CAA/IAA equilivant in France) and getting written permission from them to fly in French airspace Yes I know of at least one UK NPPL holder who got permission from the DGAC to visit France. My question was in essence whether the ...
