Re: PTC PROBLEMS

I cannot stress it enough, DO NOT pay that sort of money for training. I don't care what promises they give, they're not going to pay for your type rating if you are lucky enough to get a job at the end. Or your MCC. The list goes on. There's a very good blog from a former PTC student you can find i...

Re: Why travel abroad for Hour Building?

For those of you training with the National Flight Centre they have a great offer for Hour Building; Min 10hr block in a C150 €65 per hour - Dry - Tach Time Firstly because that deal is VERY rare and I have seen nothing like it here before. Secondly, the weather. I did 55 hours INSTRUMENT time in 4...

Do not try hour build in Ireland What's wrong with hour building in Ireland? The main reason is it will just take too long to do 100 hours. Last December I did 45 hours in two weeks in Florida, Ive been at a school in Ireland for 4 months this year (Mon-Fri) and I have done 41, a lot of it IFR! The...

Do not try hour build in Ireland

Have a look at Sunstate aviation in Kissimmee Florida. It's a top school, cessna centre with brand new 172's. It's more expensive than the JAA schools but it's worth it.

Listening to ATC online..

Does anyone know of a website where you can listen to atc comms online?

LiveATC.net is the only one I can find but Dublin and Cork have been unavailable for a while.

Cheers,
HJ

You have to laugh at all the posters getting ratty over what is a perfectly valid suggestion. This is a forum for people to discuss 'Flying in Ireland' and is the perfect place for tally to test the waters on this. You need to get back over to pprune and patronise some wannabes. To me this is a comm...

You should try emailing, calling or posting on the forum for help. The support from Bristol is excellent and you have paid for it, no point in paying extra for support elsewhere.

Don't be too discouraged by starting off with Nav either, its not all that bad!

Thanks for that Cosmic.

Few years past 20 now otherwise I would go that route. I'm hoping a 35k loan secured against the parents house might be possible? I know its a big risk but its a bit too late to go back working full time for another few years.
