You will also notice that the IAA is never criticised or mentioned. Also the two big Irish airlines are given the opportunity to correct any findings before a report is finalised and those finding are then removed from the report!
Hi Having recently been the victim of a costly identity theft crime I've been reviewing my personal security arrangements. I've changed all my passwords, PIN numbers etc and upgraded my computer firewall. I've always been very careful about destroying any correspondence that might identify my home a...
Reliability doesn't seem to be an issue. I've never seen one fail but then I've never seen the old style fail either! However i think they're much harder to use than old style gauges. Everything is squeezed onto one small screen, very small and hard to read. It would be even worse if a flight direct...
Top left of panel, partially obscured by the glareshield, is a backup integrated flight display. Just like modern airliners. Horizon, altitude, speed and compass all one one little screen. Less space, weight and cost.
Great news. However it's of questionable legality in relation to the discrimination against Irish residents. EU law requires all citizens to be treated equally regardless of state of residency. Irish residents have as much right to this procedure as UK ones. Who will take the first case I wonder?
Why can't AOPA or it's supporters give straight answers? Is he still a commitee member? How can AOPA expect the IAA or anybody to take them seriously when they can't provide straight answers about their commitee? I'm greatly concerned about the future of Irish general aviation but our best interests...
Kitty The source of the newspaper report is irrelevant, it was the first one that google produced. I can get another one if you want. It doesn't change the fact that an AOPA commitee member was found guilty as charged. This is the only publicly available information on the secret that is the new AOP...
Jim, As an aircraft owner I'm a member of the nmai and get out quite a lot. The nmai have made massive progress in advancing the cause of flying in Ireland. From what I've heard ILAS are becoming a force to be reckoned with. These organisations are run by openly elected commitees made up of people w...
I suspect this sale is just a paperwork exercise to make the possible future sale of Weston a little easier. Two companies associated with Weston are in receivership, one owns the airfield and buildings and the other owns the fixtures and fittings. If the airfield company buys the fixtures and fitti...
Media reports at the time said the aircraft was fitted with a voice and data recorder. The preliminary AAIU report said there was no problem with the aircraft. Therefore the final report must mainly be based on the crews actions as recorded. I wonder what grounds the appeal was lodged on. A dangerou...
