Hi Greg There is a flying club called Phoenix Flying based in Shannon EINN, they fly a C172 but I think it has its annual at the moment. An English company were operating out of Enniskillen recently doing aerial photography.
They regulary flew flights over the south. try ringing Enniskillen.

Aer Lingus B757 for EINN-USA winter2013/14

Is there any truth to the rumor that Lingus are to get 2 B757 to operate daily year round flights to Newyork and Boston out of Shannon starting Oct/Nov 2013?

If so, well done SAA and EIN, another step on the road to recovery for the airport!

Islands are in the FIR so if you dont land on the tarmac you dont need to do anything, see and be seen!

Reason given for not being allowed to land while Islander is on the ground is due to the wing span of the islander not being clear of the runway or close to that of an arriving aircraft. Suppose its a good reason although I'm pretty sure one took off from EIIR and lanedd on EIIM with an Islander on ...
