It might be better at present to begin developing Bal' as a proper modern military airbase suitable for operating a much larger number of helicopters and fixed-wing assets as should be obtained in the future. Also on the general avaition forum Lifted from a post on IMO 244 and 245 permanently sidelined at the moment, 246 and 247 are still in operation, but are expected to stop soon as is the Gazelle[ probally around Christmas for the Gazelle]. 248 was indeed the one lost at Tramore. As for the A111 fleet...

It is probally right that Air Ambulance helicopters should be bought, but the DoD, quite sensibly , in my opinion, are begining to think of the IAC as a military force, about time too. I belive it might be better running air-ambulances thru' the Fire Brigade services, providing the equipment is boug...

the new choppers

The results of the tender process were announced to-day:
The EC-135 for the light/trainer
The AB-139 for the troop carrier.
I expect that the A111's will be around for a while yet.
