Stovepipe,

This is my concern, given our national "attitude" ah sure we'll be alright...

Are we more susceptible to jobs in this area?

What to do?

Low & Slow

I guess a lot of the helo ops carried out here are in this high risk cat.

What do you guys think about this?

Flyiing in the grey zone is not fun. What precautions do you take?

C Nimbus, sorry to be pedantic but as this incident seemed to pass off without major damage or injury it would hardly qualify as an accident, hence waiting for the accident report would be futile. Agreed that the official report will be the be all & end all but in the mean time , all info could ...

That's a pity. Been away for many years but can remember "bumping" a Socato into (onto?) Castlebar.

Sounds like just another layer of paperwork to me.

Can anyone explain the benefits of us having to move to the new system?

My point is that what was wrong with these aircraft that the're worth so little after a relatively short lifespan? I'm assuming that their maintenance was first class, therefore the original spec must have been odd? You'd pay more for a similar aged B212. It just sounds like another instance of very...

The current 330 fleet is ragged, I think this is more fleet renewel than fleet enlargement - albeit years too late. Compare current EI atlantic product vs the competition. Hard to see EI maintaining revenue in the interim. 350 may be all its promised, but its too early to tell. All bought cheaply IM...

900EX - loose the personal insults, by all means attack the post - but not the poster ... My comments were prefaced with "by all accounts" i.e. they were supplied by others - those who have flown, operated, maintained this type. My only direct contact with this type was the aftermath of a ...

Willo, Its easy. Since the new regulations came into force (2004) you can't accept "international" flights if you're not an approved entry point. Previous to these regulations all you had to do was to notify the relevant authorities in advance that an "alien" would be arriving an...

I get a general medical done annually, previous job required it and I've continued with it out of habit. GP prod & deep breath bit costs 50 eu, bloods are free through HSE, CXR is 40 eu at the local hospital. This puts my mind at ease and as a bonus gets my motorsport and scuba medicals signed u...

"As to the future of the MATS, the Gulfie is now 14 (?) years old. It wouldn't surprise me if, in the next Dail, a decision is made to replace it; most like option? Airbus A318 Elite or A319CJ." Do they really need all that space all the time? wouldn't they be better off with several small...
