Re: Subscriptions

Hi Mark,

When will I see the magazine available in News-stand on my iPad? It might open up new markets for you.

Best Regards.

Re: No more AOPA Ireland?

It is a pity this resurrection of AOPA Ireland didn't take off. I have been away from flying for a few years so just trying to come up to speed on the sequence of events over the past 4 years. Are there any minutes of committee meetings available to read? I have met Jim. Who exactly are Bernie and K...

Re: Medical

I think insulin dependent diabetes is an absolute disqualifying illness for a class 2 medical. Assuming the person is not dependent on insulin (some type 2 diabetics are,) they will not be refused an assessment. Unless the person has complications like diabetic retinopathy /neuropathy, and assuming ...

Re: Calling All GA Community

sorry there seems to be some barrier in communication probably inherent in these text based forums. When I say lay a new foundation I don't mean establish a new organisation. I mean a new foundation for AOPA Ireland. One with a joining of interested parties and an election of officers. As for the "p...

Re: Calling All GA Community

Sorry old chap, quite confused about all this AOPA Ireland business and talk of preserving rights of GA and making representations to the IAA etc..etc... I think you are sending out the wedding invitations before anyone has said yes. What exactly is AOPA Ireland? It certainly is not a registered com...

Re: ILAS & FII Mag

Hi Willo! Best of luck with your endeavors! As for nasrav, I know it has been inactive for many months. The directors are currently talking about winding up the company due to lack of interest/support, while the funds slowly trickle out. I believe there was mention of one last public appeal for supp...

My concern here is very basic : a MAYDAY call, as I understand it, mandates the scrambling of very expensive SAR equipment and I find it very difficult to justify this as an opening gambit for each and every (let us say) engine-stop – when statistically the proportion leading to serious injury is s...

Hi Jonkil, AFAIK NASRAv have not been active for some time due to lack of demand / support, but still exist on paper in the hope that there will be renewed interest.

Was anyone at the AOPA meeting? How was the turnout?

regards.

I have been away and missed the meeting. How was it?

I would support by joining but I see there are two active aopa Ireland websites both accepting members, one claiming the other is a fake.

and

This really puts me off.
All the best.

Re: Another unhappy GA customer at Galway Airport

I also don't understand how it could cost €224 for four days parking. Do they really charge €56 for a days parking? They charge 84e per day to park an aircraft up to 4.9 tonnes as far as I see. http://www.galwayairport.com/files/GALWAY%20AIRPORT%20-%20Scale%20of%20Fees%20and%20Charges%20%20Standard...

Driving deaths are preventable (most are associated with inappropriate speed,) but I'm not sure what you are getting at?? Pilots are loaded because they don't prevent the preventable, not because they can't. CML, with 2.5 million licenced vehicles / drivers and ~300 deaths per year, it is not unreas...
