The report, which is being launched in Brussels today, reveals that Irish airlines are responsible for almost a quarter of all complaints by airline passengers.
For the second year in a row, Irish airlines are the most complained about in Europe, according to the report by the ECC.
AdvertisementIt also found that Irish passengers made more complaints against airlines in 2007 than any other nationality in Europe. This is an increase on the previous year, when Irish people came seventh on the list.
The main issues for airline passengers were in relation to lost luggage, cancelled flights and delays.
The ECC said the report proves that existing passenger rights' legislation is too vague and is not being properly enforced.
ECC Ireland director Tina Leonard said the report proved that not much had changed during the last year but that she was hopeful that 2008 would be different.
