Aer Lingus and Aer Turas DH89 Livery

Post by Allan » Mon Nov 06, 2017 7:42 pm

Would anyone know what colour schemes were used by Aer Lingus and/or Aer Turas on their DH89 Dragons, not to be confused with the famous DH84 Dragon EI-ABI. Their registrations were EI-ABP, EI-ADP, EI-AEA, EI-AFG, EI-AGK and Aer Turas EI-AML. There are a few photos of EI-AML but no details on the colours. This is for a scale radio controlled model aircraft project. Help much appreciated.

here's a shot of EI-AML, I believe the picture is taken in 1963 - https://www.flickr.com/photos/118781966 ... otostream/

one with EI-AEA, but I don't think it was ever with AerLingus. As far as I can find it was operated by Weston Air Service/Weston Ltd https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/ ... ited-2.jpg

This poster here suggests there was not much paint on those dragons for AerLingus - https://www.flickr.com/photos/38016434@ ... otostream/

However a shot of DH86 reveals that they were adding Irish Flag to some of the planes in the forties - https://pbs.twimg.com/media/BAkEFl3CUAAh5Gx.jpg:large

not sure if any of this is helpful, but hope it is..
