Re: Euro American school of Aviation Florida

I went to EASA for the CPL before Christmas, like yourself I read a lot of bad press but the price is what lured me... Got it done in 2 weeks as promised and mysteriously under budget.. I found them to be good, no frills but got what I wanted. When I did my research I couldn't find a bad word about ...

Re: Cost of ppl training

Therefore there would be no additional training required or an additional outlay when you got back to Ireland. We have different classes of Airspace and different VFR minima. RT is vastly different. Ask Shannon for a flight following see what they say. Our weather. I would consider it more than pru...

Re: B.Sc. in Aviation Mgt with Pilot Studies

Bob nailed it in one there so defo second that. You don't even need a Junior Cert to get a flying job. I'm sure the degree would come in handy but much wiser to hedge your bets with a different degree and career option. I've come across a few older guys that had been made redundant several times thr...

Re: Cost of ppl training

Going to the states is the only way to go lads Assuming your ok with the additional outlay required for training when you get back to Ireland. You can still do JAA training in the states, sure our national carrier used to send their cadets to the states!! Therefore there would be no additional trai...

Re: Cost of ppl training

be careful of fly-easa thats my 2 cents Not having a go at you Camroc but just want to say that I've heard all the bad press about them and in fairness they do what they say on the tin. I did my CPL with them and found them to be great, on budget, on min hours, and in 2 weeks, as they promised. Whe...

Re: Support the Regional Airports

Galway will be hard pushed to find support on this one! When the retail sector were in difficulty they lowered prices and put on sales to attract business. I didn't go into the most expensive shops to buy their expensive products just to keep them nice and profitable. Aviation is no different, albei...

Re: AL Cadet programme

Their currently taking on fATPL lads so wouldn't be that, if you have the fATPL get an application in quick.

Could very easily be one of these self sponsorship things. Nice little earner for AL who need it!

Be interesting to see what the deal is.

Re: Question, unable to attend Flying Expo this weekend

Second that, you're on the ball already so won't really miss out. I went about 2 years ago and overheard a group of lads being fed complete cr*p by a guy from Gestair. He said they were the best flight school and that they could guarantee jobs with their airline partners. I would have intervened onl...

Re: Cost of ppl training

Very well put together Mark. I'd second what Mark says in that if it's just flying for fun go microlight, it's really taken off here in Ireland and some of the microlight aircraft out perform the regular Cessna 150's etc and are a lot cheaper. Newcastle airfield in Wicklow have a nice set up for mic...
